Alpine Assault Rally

Updated: September 26, 2017

Have you watched the Dakar Rally thinking you’d really like to try that some day?  Perhaps not the rally itself, but just navigating a ride the same way they do?

Maschine is excited to be introducing a new motorcycle navigation rally event in Australia. We have created a new non-competitive travel enduro ride to give riders a chance to exercise their navigation skills and experience following an authentic rally-style roadbook.

The Alpine Assault Rally will run over three days from December 1-3, 2017, in Victoria’s High Country where riders will have a choice of following the tracks by:

  • Printed roll chart roadbook,
  • Digital PDF roll chart (tablet or smartphone), or
  • GPS

After riding 170km-250km each day, riders will arrive at a bivouac with motel beds or camping available and dinner/breakfast provided.  Expect hard-core riding during the day and a fun social atmosphere at night!

Will it be doable on a big adventure bike? Sure, but only if you are a very good rider capable of riding tight single track and going up and down some gnarly hills.  We’re talking a step above your average adventure ride!

Aimed at adventure bikes or enduro bikes set-up with navigation gear to go the distance. Although it’s a noncompetitive event, this supported ride will be a new challenge for riders looking for something they can’t find anywhere else.
