Are You Ready For The Great Divide Ride?

Updated: November 8, 2019

Are you ready to ride the greatest, most diverse landscape Australia has to offer?

3 stages over 2020/2021

Total 7,000km

Fully supported

This one has been bubbling away for a few years now.  An overland exploration worthy of the title “GREAT”.

The basic concept was to travel the full length of Australia’s Great Dividing Range and watch the country change as we travel north.  The dilemma was how to tackle such a continental overland trip and offer it as a tour for riders to enjoy together.

Not many adventure riders have the luxury of time or money to do the big overland trips, as much as we might dream about them.  So, we made the decision to split the Great Divide Ride into three manageable stages, so that everyone can achieve something big without it impacting your work/home life too much ☺️

Tomorrow is your opportunity to be among the first to register for Stage 1 of this monumental ride.

The Stages

Our ride totals roughly some 7,000km. Most people don’t have the time or resources to tackle such an immense overland expedition in one hit so we have decided to break it up into three stages of about 7 days each over a 15 month period.

This will make it easier to budget and also gain the all important leave passes from your boss/wife/life partner/dog etc.

Stage 1 > Grampians to Hunter Valley

28 Mar – 4 Apr 2020

7 days / 8 nights

We will begin at Mount Zero in the Grampians VIC and finish in Hunter Valley region near Newcastle NSW.  This stage is all about the mountains, taking in both the Victorian and NSW High Country.

Stage 2 > Hunter Valley to Mackay

12-19 Sept 2020

7 days / 8 nights

Hunter Valley NSW to part way up Queensland’s coast to Mackay. This stage could be a little fresh at times in the Granite Belt but we will also be travelling through lush rainforest in Northern Rivers of NSW, South East QLD and finishing back near the coast at Mackay.

Stage 3 > Mackay to Cape York

Early June 2021

Ride days to be confirmed

Our final push to The Tip will take us a little further west through outback Queensland before heading back to the lush rainforest in the stunning Daintree north of Cairns before making our final push into the wild frontier of Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula to finish our grand adventure at The Tip.  For many riders The Tip is high on their bucket list so why not do it in real style?  Your arrival at The Tip is sure to fill you with an enormous sense of achievement.  We’ll then help you back down to the coast to Cairns where you can make your way home.

The adventure starts tomorrow at 12pm.
