Focus on South America

This month we are turning the spotlight on our South American tours.

With QANTAS flying direct from Melbourne to Santiago for as low as $1 229. It has rarely been more affordable or convenient for Australians to visit South America and have the chance to experience what we think is some of the best riding in the world.

Non-Australians should also put South America at the top of their list of must see destinations as it offers an abundance of spectacular and diverse scenery, ancient and fascinating cultures, not to mention the mouth watering culinary delights of each new country that you will visit.

Apart from South America we have wrap-ups on Charley Boorman’s triumphant return to Africa and our latest jaunt across Australia for your viewing pleasure.

Also, Is Alaska tempting you?

South America – Here we come!

We have a great offer to encourage you to make South America your riding destination in 2018.

For a short time only we are offering 2 nights free pre or post tour accommodation at our tour hotels on the South American Tours below:

Southern Lakes Explorer – Jan 2018

A few days in Santiago, Chile is a fantastic way start or finish your Southern Lakes Explorer.

Santiago has a beautiful colonial city centre based around the pleasant Plaza de Armas, a stunning cathedral and some wonderful museums and markets. Day trips from the city include world class wine regions and the colourful coastal port city of Valparaiso.

rch (Northbound) and Sept (Southbound) 2018

Departing from or finishing up your tour in Cusco you could use your free accommodation to take some time to acclimatise to the altitude of Cusco before jumping on your bike for the tour (something that we highly recommend you do) or alternatively finishing your tour with a couple of days exploring the sights of the ancient capital of the Incas.

Los Andes – April and June

Iconic South America – May

Rio is a fantastic city to relax in or see the sights of, so including a couple of days there on either your Los Andes or Iconic South America tour is another great idea.

The beaches, the colourful Favela suburbs, Christ the Redeemer and the nightlife are just a small selection of wonderful things to see and do in this vibrant city.

These offers are only applicable for new bookings. Please mention the offer at time of booking.

The Savannah Way With Simon Pavey

The red dust of the Northern Australian Outback is like a drug to adventure riders, it draws us back again and again.  Dakar Rally veteran and Off Road Skills training legend Simon Pavey is not immune.

After a succesful tour in 2016, Simon and his crew will be back in Australia in August 2018 to lead the 21-day Savannah Way tour from Cairns on the east coast to Broome on the west. It will be a ride to remember through remote and rarely visited regions of our expansive country, along bush tracks and desert dirt highways.  We will be visiting world-renowned national parks, a working cattle station and beautiful beaches on both sides of the country.

This is definitely some of the most remarkable, remote and exciting riding in Australia.

Word of mouth and return business are an essential part of what Compass Expeditions do.

We pride ourselves in providing experiences that generate memories that will last a lifetime and we hope that our guests will return again and again to us for their next adventure. We love it when our riders enjoyed their tour so much that they want to recommend us to their riding friends.

For our return riders we have a little thank you in the form of our Frequent Rider Discount Program.

Coming soon we plan to have a program that will reward our regular riders for recommending us to their friends as well.

Stay tuned.
