REV’IT! Sand 3 jacket

0

By Chris Bostelman.

Like most of us, I have an area in the shed with an array of jackets that haven’t quite been up to the task of adventure riding.

I’ve recently had the pleasure of testing the REV’IT! Sand 3 adventure jacket. Before we talk features, I’m going to say it, I love the colour.  It’s different to the array of black jackets with black this and black that. Black = heat when it comes to riding off-road in the sun.

The Sand 3 jacket has two large waterproof front pockets, an internal liner for rain and another for thermal reassurance on those cold days. The rear pocket holds the liners when not in use.

Nice colour, plenty of pockets and comfortable

There is a list of cool features, but my favourites are the adjustable elbow-pad heights that enhance rider comfort and protection, mounting points for a neck brace and lots and lots of zips. Zips to attach the liners, zips to attach the pants, zips to control airflow. You can also add a quality back protector into the built in pocket.

For ventilation, there are two zips on the chest, two on the back panel and one on the front of each arm.

The ventilation is great when wearing a hydration pack, the vents remain clear and functional. The arm zips also allow the quickest and easiest fitting or removal of the additional liners of any jacket I’ve used to date. Simply unzip the arms, attach liners and zip back up. You no longer need the patience of a saint or specialised medical skills.

Yes, I would buy this jacket. The fit and finish are great, it’s well designed, looks great and is super comfortable.
